We are currently seeking one full time articling student to join our team. This position is full time for a term of twelve months, during which you will attend the Professional Legal Training Course for ten weeks. You will have the opportunity to work with experienced lawyers on a variety of legal matters, as well as work independently on files assigned to you.
Responsibilities:
Draft and review legal documents including:
contracts and purchase sale agreements
loan and financing documents
security agreements
real estate documents
Assist in preparing closing documents for corporate and real estate transactions
Participate in corporate transactions (asset and share purchases)
Attend client meetings and assist lawyers in consultations
Prepare and file documents with regulatory bodies (BC Corporate Registry, Land Title Office)
Help maintain corporate records (minute books, share ledgers)
Learn from supervising lawyers through feedback and guidance
Minimum Requirements:
Law degree from an accredited Canadian law school or NCA Certificate of Qualification
Eligibility for articling student registration with the Law Society of British Columbia
Relevant work experience in law
